Escort is big. Literally. The seventeen piece disco orchestra from New York consists of an incredible cast of musicians that have played with bands like indie rock titans Arcade Fire. The New York Times and music blog Pitchfork wrote great reviews about them and earlier this year they released a self-titled LP. Escort will be joined by Nick Waterhouse, WhoMadeWho and others.

Wednesday, March 7, Melkweg
2011 was SBTRKT’s year. By mixing dubstep, 2-step and chicago house, the London based musician and producer Aaron Jerome, he has developed a whole new music style and is performing at many sold-out venues worldwide. Other artists that night are: Koreless, an upcoming producer from Wales who’s getting his inspiration from old jungle from the nineties, the young Austrian beat conducter Dorian Concept, garage/hiphop/soul sounds from Yankee Falty DL, Swedish ambient techno DJ The Field, and Grote Prijs award winner Presk and last but not least, the, according to Jackmaster, rising talent Redinho.

Friday, March 9, Paradiso
5 Days Off presents: Circus with Doctor P, Cookie Monsta, Brown & Gammon and Roksonix. Circus Records was established in 2009 by Flux Pavilion, Swan-E and Doctor P. ‘Sweet Shop’ was sold over 10.000 times which gave them their worldwide breakthrough. Now they are following the footsteps of Skrilex. The night will be hosted by Mosh, the Amsterdam dubstep event of Gomes.

Saturday, March 10, Paradiso
Last weekend, during Eurosonic festival, he played his first gig in the Netherlands, and during 5 Days Off the seventeen-year-old Madeon will debut in Amsterdam. The French pop/house remix-prins made a remix of Deadmau5 track ‘Raise Your Weapon’ which gave him worldwide fame. Tracks of Alphabeat, The Killers and Pendulum were next. On the same night you can go and see Huoratron (whore-a-tron), a solo project of the Finnish Aku Raski. He got his success from work in 2002, he used two Game Boy game computers  to produce experimental electro house. He extended his set of instruments and will play a live set at 5 Days Off.

Saturday, March 10, Melkweg
Drum ‘n bass is reliving it’s golden age. This is mainly because of the upcoming popularity of dubstep. The boys of Noisia from Groningen, a Dutch city in the North of our country), is the living proof of that. With their worldwide fan base and innumerable international gigs. They remix tracks for no other than Moby, Skrillex and Deadmau5 and their tunes are used for video games regularly. On the fourth night of 5 Days Off, they treat us on an Amsterdam gig for the first time in 1.5 years. Under the name ‘Noisia Invites’ they will make the audience go crazy, bringing along befriended drum and bass producers Alix Perez, Phace, Black Sun Empire, Zero T, Posij and Hybris.

On Thursday night in Paradiso, Canadian beats DJ Lunice is added to the already announced line-up, i.e. The Gaslamp Killer and Hudson Mohawke.

The non-musical program of the festival, 5 Days On, will present alongside ‘Echt Gebeurd’ (true stories) and ‘Kamermans Kermis’ in de Balie, a photo exposition of Robin de Puy in the Amsterdam Museum. For more information about the line-up, check
